Spiritual Direction is offered freely, and is supported by gifts and donations. No one is ever denied the support they need because of financial issues. A spiritual director serves as mentor, coach, and guide... a companion in your inner life. It's important in choosing a spiritual director to feel a connection, a sort of resonance. For this reason we'll have an initial call or meeting to see if we're a good 'fit.' We will be exploring and discovering a deeper relationship with the spiritual aspect of existence, and this reversal of attention from outer to inner takes a good bit of trust! Any time we undertake a journey, we like to have support from someone who has been there before. That is largely the role of your spiritual coach or director... to support you in the contemplative practice of daily awakening to the Presence of God (or a higher power, if you will), and to the true nature of that relationship. The origins of spiritual direction date back thousands of years. It's an ancient and venerable tradition in every culture and region of the world. Although there are spiritual directors who practice only within their religion, spiritual direction is not specific to any religion or path, but embraces all of them. Regardless of your background, if you find yourself on the inner journey, the awakening path, a spiritual director may be the companion for you... and I would be honored to make the journey with you.
